puzzling over nature...
Saturday evening: Julia, my Warsaw roommate fiddling with the fresh grain of wheat.
This is the third in a series of pictures I took on our little excursion to the countryside this weekend. We went to the ranch house of Julia's parents, some 50 kilometers away from Warsaw. It was a marvellous day! I was horse riding for the first time in my life - and I fell off the horse for the first time too. I also got drunk with one beer - probably because of all this unbelievably fresh air and emotion.
We wondered round the fields and ponds, picking wild strawberries, chasing away mosquitoes, getting scratched, stung by nettles and last but not least, shooting marvellous photos of nature.

(1) Parada równości: atmosphere of a picnic
A some of you might know, we've had a very important event here today: "Parada równości", the annually held gay rights march in Warsaw. Legal for the first time!
International press has been criticising Eastern Europe for our "wrong" attitude towards gay people. It is true that homosexuals do not have any special rights in Poland. But it is also true, that I know perfectly happy gay couples living in Warsaw and I have never heard stories of them being ostracised, persecuted or hurt physically because of their sexual preferences. Am I wrong guys? Tell me If I am...
Anyway. This march was a really positive thing. I haven't seen any eggs thrown at the happy crowd nor any acts of aggression, though the press reported there were some. I've seen nationalists and a few anarchist youngsters yellig at each other, but you will hear of no fighting in my story. Everything was controlled by the watchful police. Oh yes, there were a lot of policemen taking care of us...
Here comes my optimistic story :D

For those of you complaining, that I am only interested in depicting men's charms, meet the favourite model of Fotosia, my little niece Nina. :)
The photo was shot by my brother but the application of a highkey-like technique in photoshop gave it a completely different look, so I feel like I have the authority to publish the photo on my website.

Where things go the other way...
Now, if you'll only attend, Kitty, and not talk so much, I'll tell you all my ideas about Looking-glass House. First, there's the room you can see through the glass -- that's just the same as our drawing room, only the things go the other way. I can see all of it when I get upon a chair (...) How would you like to live in Looking-glass House, Kitty? I wonder if they'd give you milk in there?

Little Girl
Brussels, November 2004. These two photos illustrate very well, how through a different perspective, one can introduce dynamism and dramatic mood into a picture. It reminds me actually of a study, I read last term, saying that even three year old kids are able to convey their real feelings. A skill essential for this girl's existence, I guess.
