5th of May - Liberation Day in Amsterdam

Long live the Dutch, who can make fun of such occasions and not only be pompous like my kinsmen. Second World War domesticated. Here it goes...

Always look on the bright side of life, turum, turum, turum, turum...

What the hell are you looking at, it's not me, it's my grandpa who was figthing in that damn war...!

Ola!

What? You want me to say something again? Bugger off!

Ekhum, ekuhm...!

Tam, tam, tam, tamam, tram, pum, pur, rur, rum...

They're not deserting their legions, he? Why would they?

Where things go the other way...

Now, if you'll only attend, Kitty, and not talk so much, I'll tell you all my ideas about Looking-glass House. First, there's the room you can see through the glass -- that's just the same as our drawing room, only the things go the other way. I can see all of it when I get upon a chair (...) How would you like to live in Looking-glass House, Kitty? I wonder if they'd give you milk in there?

Viva Mother Munchies !

I was always looking for a pretext to write something about graceful Lady Munchies, the very special person from Bamse House. And here's the occasion: a few hours ago, all of us, became godfathers and -mothers to five naked, rat-like creatures. Photos comming soon.

Was the ice cream so good or is Lies just a little bit shy?

Little Girl

Brussels, November 2004. These two photos illustrate very well, how through a different perspective, one can introduce dynamism and dramatic mood into a picture. It reminds me actually of a study, I read last term, saying that even three year old kids are able to convey their real feelings. A skill essential for this girl's existence, I guess.

An empty room

Time for sentimental Gosia. I will probably never figure out what kind of building this was. No information board, no address, no people around, just two huge, round towers looming over some no-one's land in one of the more derelict regions of Warsaw - Wola. We had to climb over a rusty fence to get there. It happened only once. When I came back, after a month, there was a guard and a dog watching. This was in... April 2002.

You might notice that one of the buildings had a leaking roof so there was a perfect ice skating surface on the bottom of it.

Ma Qiang

My first model session. Below - a choice of 13 from 260 photos I took this afternoon. Once you lay your hands on a good digital camera, selection becomes a real issue. I hope some of these pics will help my friend to get a job in a model agency in Brussels.

Warsaw

There's not much to say on the subject of Warsaw, except that I hate it with all my heart. I can't stand its busy streets, the stench of urine, vomit, homeless people and cheap hamburgers in the underground of the Central Station. The Palace of Culture - a sad, grey block of stone, the tomb of communist ideals. Noisy streets, dirty trains, ill pigeons, ill people, always busy, always important.

But through the lens of my camera, perspective changes...
