Was the ice cream so good or is Lies just a little bit shy?

Little Girl
Brussels, November 2004. These two photos illustrate very well, how through a different perspective, one can introduce dynamism and dramatic mood into a picture. It reminds me actually of a study, I read last term, saying that even three year old kids are able to convey their real feelings. A skill essential for this girl's existence, I guess.

An empty room
Time for sentimental Gosia. I will probably never figure out what kind of building this was. No information board, no address, no people around, just two huge, round towers looming over some no-one's land in one of the more derelict regions of Warsaw - Wola. We had to climb over a rusty fence to get there. It happened only once. When I came back, after a month, there was a guard and a dog watching. This was in... April 2002.
You might notice that one of the buildings had a leaking roof so there was a perfect ice skating surface on the bottom of it.

Warsaw
There's not much to say on the subject of Warsaw, except that I hate it with all my heart. I can't stand its busy streets, the stench of urine, vomit, homeless people and cheap hamburgers in the underground of the Central Station. The Palace of Culture - a sad, grey block of stone, the tomb of communist ideals. Noisy streets, dirty trains, ill pigeons, ill people, always busy, always important.
But through the lens of my camera, perspective changes...
